Minimalist Wardrobe: Black and White? Help!

This is more of a question than a post, but…do those of you with a minimalist closet find that a black and white palette work for you? It seems clean and simple, but I worry slightly boring (yet still so classy! I’m very conflicted). I love florals and simple polka dots and color, particularly jewel tones like emerald and purple. I would worry that I’d be giving up a sense of creativity.

That being said….black and white seems like such a great option because these colors are nearly always available with the most selection. This makes it easier to find a piece that fits perfectly. These colors will always work together as well, which is super important. As a new mom I think my wardrobe would be more black than white in case of baby messes in general.

Have you transitioned to a black & white wardrobe? How did you do it?

  1. Yes 😊, I have some black and white in my capsule wardrobe. The lovely colors you mention I also have, as accent pieces (statement necklaces, earrings, scarfs, etc.,). I found a lot of creative ideas to add splashes of colors and interchangeable pieces on pinterest so I didn’t have to choose ‘all black’ like I almost did. :/ :). Congratulations on being a new mommy! Best wishes!
